Call ahead to the church office (355-2273) during weekday office hours to arrange a time to record your Peace story.

The objective is to tell your story in fewer than 4 minutes:
For the purpose of gathering our oral history the best story length is 2 to 3 minutes. That means you will want to tell a “tight” story. Think about what the essence of your narration should be and tell that simply and succinctly.
You may have several anecdotes you want to recount for the oral history. We encourage you to share as many as you want to share — but think about telling each vignette as a separate episode of several minutes each rather than as one long tale.
It is best to be talking to a friend or loved one:
The best results for an oral history project like ours occurs when the person speaking is simply recalling an event or describing a moment to another person - not when you are talking into a microphone. So try to forget the mic is there and simply tell your tale to an engaged companion.
Practice makes perfect:
While it may seem that this should be a natural conversation, you may find that spending a few minutes saying out loud what you intend to say during your recording session will help you think through how best to tell your tale. In the end you hope that the recording will sound like a simple and natural conversation, but you may want to rehearse your material to be sure you are ready when the recording begins.
By the way, though you wouldn’t want to read a manuscript, you may find that writing out your story in advance will help you refine what is most important to you.

Some Sample Questions
Can you remember what first brought you to Peace?
Do you have any dreams for Peace?
Got a retreat reminiscence?
What is your favorite Christmas story about Peace?
Can you remember a particular fellowship event at Peace that you enjoyed?
Tell of a time when you were proud of Peace.
What made you choose Peace as a church home?
Do you have a funny story to share about Peace?
Got a Peace sports team moment?
What is your favorite Easter story about Peace?
When you think about Peace, what words come to mind?
